Customer reviews

I've had my cotton duck Tilley since at least 1992 - so long that I don't remember what model it is but T4 fits the description. It's been all over the world - soaked in monsoons and baked in deserts and even run over by Italian juggernauts. The crown is now parting company from the brim but since I've totally abused it and never followed the care instructions it's hardly surprising. It owes me nothing and has been a fantastic hat. It can still do a turn in the garden but it's travelling days are done. Time for a successor!

Purchased my faithful Tilley T4 in 2000. It has been all over the world and never let me down. Imagine my dismay when, after getting back from a trip to Sri Lanka where it got very wet and grubby, my wife washed it in the usual recommended way and it suddenly was no longer the friend of so many journeys but now falling apart and with holes appearing. I hope that the Tilley Lifetime guarantee will come into effect and I can replace my old faithful with another T4. Farewell old friend as I think it is time to retire you or maybe keep you in reserve for future trips. "Gone but not forgotten"

Just the best hat - wonderful , comfortable, stays in shape and can go in the suitcase and pop out ready for wear.

Bought my Tilley hat in 2007 for an Egyptian holiday in the heat. It was a good travel friend ever since. Imagine my dismay when I lost my hat as I capsized a sailing boat in Barbados on holiday and watched it float away in the ocean while I faced the prospect of swimming a mile to nearest shore. Luckily 4 boats saw me and came to my rescue, but the wind and current prevented the rescue of my friend. I now have a new friend from Mr Tilley and shall take better care in the future. Maybe my old hat will survive its long journey at sea and be found and returned to me. My details are written inside!
