I have been a fan of Rab gear for over 20 years now, ever since my first encounter with a Rab Andes Guide that got used by the whole family at one stage or another! This was followed by a Ladakh 1000 Sleepingbag which proved worth considerably more than its weigh in gold every time I used it. We fast forward now to the Rab Summit Batura Jacket that is now residing in my wardrobe. I received the jacket very quickly (Impressive next day delivery just three days before Christmas) I have come to expect excellence as standard with Rab - I was not disappointed. The construction appears both bombproof and faultless. This is a seriously well made jacket. I needed the waterproof outer the Batura provides for several reasons. I live in Kent which has more rain than snow but still experiences sub zero temperatures in the winter. I am a wheelchair user so the more robust Pertex outer needs to be able withstand the rigours of wheelchair use. And finally I am trekking to Everest base camp in 2011, a trek not completed by many paraplegics and being paralysed, staying warm is of paramount importance. I have no concerns on that score regarding this jacket. It truly is like a very top end, weatherproof, sleeping bag that you wear. If you are going into the wild in the colder weather, this is a must have piece of kit. It stuffs down into its supplied stuffsac, ready for use when the temperature drops or the rain comes in. In a word _
AWESOME!

Ordered this jacket for an expedition to Everest base camp in 2011. I have used Rab gear for years and remain utterly impressed by its insulation and weatherpoof properties. It was a late order but next day delivery as promised even thought it was 3 days before Christmas. I have ordered from OutdoorKit before. Always had superb service and very friendly and helpful on the phone too. BTW, some may say it is possibly overkill for base camp - I am a paraplegic and am paralysed from the chest down. I need all the warmth I can get!
