Customer reviews

Bought this in decemberlast year, for around £55 (got a very good pricematch for go outdoors!) it's now September and I've just noticed that one of the two main pieces of webbing that transfer weight from the rucksack frame to the hipbelt has nearly shorn through completely. It has also developed some quite deep abraisions in the front material where the pack lies when put on the ground, at the current rate I would expect these to become full-thickness in the next month or so if I continue to use it, and I am quite careful how I put it down given that there is often something delicate in the front pocket. I have used it a lot, and it has been quite full on some trips but hardly overloaded weight wise. I am very disappointing in this, the rucksack itself has been excellent, comfortable and with a good range of stowage options. I've used it for everything from a winter skills course in the snow, Nevis CMD/north ridge route in foul winter weather, regular normal long-distance walking every weekend, scrambling, welsh 3000's, four or five wildcamping/bivy multiday trips, the Chamonix-Zermatt Haute alps route this summer - and apart from the last where the hip belt began to badly abraid my sikn on my waist on day 8 of 14 of continuous walking it's been excellently comfortable and a pleasure to use. I'm very unhappy that I'm having to return this when my partner's old, cheap and nasty sprayway 40l sack has survived the same rigors and many years previously and has not problems at all. Very poor build quality from deuter, I'd expect better from a premium brand, especially when it's hardly a light bag for the capacity.

I bought this as I already have a small Deuter rucksack for cycling which I'm really pleased with, this is a really good technical bag, which I can't wait to use properly. My initial thoughts, I can't fault it, it looks spot on. Really, really good build and very comfortable. The delivery service from these guys was superb as well, will definitely be using them again.
