Terra Nova Superlite Solar 2.2 Tent

£359.99 (10% off RRP of £400.00)

We're very sorry, but this product is currently unavailable.

The success of our Superlite Voyager has spurred us on to create superlite versions of our most successful models. These should be firm favourites with those who value the benefits of a geodesic structure yet want to keep weight to a minimum.

The Superlite Solar 2.2 uses the same inner tent as the Solar 2, but the flysheet now has a door on both front and back. Not only does this increase access to the excellent storage of the Solar 2, but combats the main problem of a transverse sleeping arrangement there's now no need to climb over your colleague to get out of the tent.

Using the same fabrics as we use in our Laser range we have been able to keep the weight to a fraction over 1Kg each, when carried between two people. An excellent year round back packing tent just got better. Note: Due to the nature of the silcon fabrics used in this tent, the seams are not factory sealed.

Customer reviews

This is THE tent that other tents want to be when they grow up! I used this tent in very windy conditions in the Lake district's Great Moss recently after the same winds flattened my Saunders Felltrek (I was gutted!). This tent just took the winds and rain with no worries and I truly believe that this tent is a 4 season. It has been used (however, not by me) in winter conditions. It is not a high altitude tent (unlike a TN Quasar?) but will easily cope with what the fickle UK weather can throw at it. The additon of an extra porch makes this tent undeniably the best in its class. Cooking inside the tent (though not advovcated) can be accomodated with comparative ease in either porch ensuring adequate ventilation firstly! The storage options are excellent and the fly can be opened in several ways to ensure complete protection from the elements. Erection of the tent is very fast and with enough pratice, it is possible to erect in full on rain without getting the inside sleeping area wet at all as there is a DWR layer applied to it. Two porches, two people, two doors, 2 Kg (or less!) This tent is in a word ... Perfection.

I have had this tent for 3 years now. I lived in it for 2 weeks on Mount Elgon (3000m on Kneyan / Ugandan border), in the French Alps, Texas and extensively in the UK. I have owned and use LOTS of tents, but this is my favorite. Its light, bomb-proof, warm and well-designed. The door-set-upis great - pitch it so you can see the view, and boy what a view you get. A lovely bit of kit. And its hand made in Derbyshire!
