Bought a Montanne top (previous version in blue with black patch sleeves) because of the finish compared to other similar type pile tops. Been used in full conditions on many winter climbs/summits. Furthermore as a Level 3 BCU coach is a classic garment for when it is wet & cold. Mine is now up for renewal and whilst the other competition tops remain good, Montanne has the edge.

Bombproof. Had mine for a number of years now and still it is my go to kit for Scotland. Not even the Cuillin gabro could shred this garment! Only criticism is that the velcro on the front pocket is SO STRONG that it has pulled the stitching away, and the hood is SO WARM that only a winter bivvy called for it's use.

I must have the jacket produced before this one because I bought mine in 1998, but I have worn it everywhere from Pakistan to the Lakes. Excellent piece of kit, you won't find better.

These are fantastic. I lived in mine for 5 weeks in Bolivia, used up to 6500m, -20C, no problems with a couple of layers underneath. My down jacket, fleece and waterproof were redundant. Just a tad bulky to pack though. Really good value.

Bought one of these in red and after only a few washes it started rapidly loosing colour and is now pink.

I recently bought one of these for a trip to the Arctic. It performed very well in all conditions and is cheaper than similar product by other brands. The only minor problem is the Velcro pocket which attaches itself to all gloves when it's too cold to bare your hands. All in all a great buy.
