The Kestrel series has been developed to cope with any-trail, any-season. In wet weather and heavy downpours the built in rain cover provides protection. During hotter conditions the adjustable AirScape back panel keeps you well ventilated whilst offering the load support you require.
Fabulous rucksack. For years I've tolerated smaller day sacks that just never feel comfortable, making your shoulders ache. This may be a little big for a day sack, but go with it - it's so comfortable you won't regret it. I was training for a major hike and had it loaded with 14 litres of water and my camera gear and food and while I could barely lift the thing, once on my back it felt pretty good, all day long.

After much research I picked the Kestrel 48 as my main rucksack for hillwalking in Dumfries and Galloway. I wasn't disappointed and this is a cracking rucksack. Plenty of pockets, unique pole holders and extremely comfortable to wear. I always take the Osprey with me on long day walks and I'm certain that there is enough capacity in the pack to use it for 2 or 3 day walks and a 7 day walk if you packed carefully. The 48 is a joy to use, well made, cleverly designed and I'd highly recommend it. Go buy one it's well worth the money and it'll last for yonks.
